Peter advises clients in a large variety of industries on a full range of employment and labour related legal issues

Peter has helped clients in a range of industries, including manufacturing, motor vehicle, entertainment, leisure, hospitality, technology and communications, consulting, engineering, construction, airline, road and rail transport, energy, food and wine, finance and not for profit sectors.

Peter’s career has spanned an era of significant legislative change, including WorkChoices, the introduction of the Fair Work Act, temporary COVID -19 amendments to the law and the extensive 2022 amendments to the Fair Work Act.

>   Preparation of employment and independent contractor agreements for all levels of

seniority

>   Representing employers in State and Federal Courts, the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals in numerous unfair dismissal, general protections and unlawful termination claims and contract disputes with senior executive employees

>   Advising business on employee disciplinary issues and termination of employment

>   Helping employers to deal with individual employee grievances, including claims of bullying and unlawful discrimination and harassment, and investigations into employee behaviour

>   Advice on resolving industrial disputes, including obtaining injunctions and other orders to stop industrial action  

>   Assisting negotiation of collective and union enterprise bargains

>   Advice on employment issues in business sale, acquisition, outsourcing and restructuring, involving several hundred employees

>   Litigation about confidentiality and post employment obligations

>   Advice about award compliance, underpayment of wages claims and Fair Work Ombudsman litigation
